If you are experienced enough to walk 5 hours a day then this trek is easy for you. But if you are a bit inexperienced it can be challenging at some point of this trek.
How difficult is the Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek?
Comparing the ABC trek to 12 days, this short trek is more challenging and tricky. There will be no acclimatization days, so you must be alert against Altitude sickness. Likewise, the walking hours are like 7-8 hours in a day. Walking 7 hours a day is not easy. Better train your body well to face all the hardships you need to do. Likewise, you never know about the weather in the mountains. So, if in case there are any weather changes, be prepared to face the challenges.
Altitude sickness prevention for Short ABC Trek
As you gain more height the level of oxygen goes down. The high altitude can give you unpredictable effects on your body. Normally, trekking above 3000 meters may give you some mild symptoms of sickness like dizziness, headache, nausea, shortness of breath, etc. So, what are the major preventions to avoid sickness during this trek? Never walk too fast at high altitudes. The difficulty is quite tricky on this trek as you have to walk 7 hours a day at high elevations. So, take your time and walk slowly, instead of 7 hours take one hour extra and make it 8. Avoid alcohol as much as you can. Instead drink plenty of water, around 4-5 liters in a day. Focus on eating more healthy vegetable soups once a day and eating well. In case you feel worst then you have to take a rest or even may descend.
